Who am I in their eye or who am I really?

Did you ask who I am or...did you answer the question?

The question of autodefinition is very interesting to me. I have been all my life facing some kind of discrimination. I have been all my life confronted to that idea of defining myself and as soon as I was grown enough to handle it I made it my job to let myself shine.

It has been a long road and an hard one too because whether by family, community, coworkers, even friends, people assume that you are somebody and should like or not something, be or not something else.

The truth is I set myself free once I learned to love myself for you I am and not hate myself for trying to be all these other people expected me to be or tried to force me to be.

I often dealt with people who decided who I was because of my ethnicity, my culture, my family religion or more. The easy way is to try to fit people in those little boxes that have been made long time ago. Some get upgraded but are still boxes.

Beautiful is the smooth picture

Now, I know the smooth picture is so beautiful. I sometimes long after those beautiful pictures, but they are just pictures, as perfect as surrealist.

Look at this perfect woman, that is probably what some expect, perfect or almost I am for myself. I still work at becoming better, every single moment, with love and pleasure, delight in the being in becoming. I can not be put in any box, that bothers some, but I determine who I am, I define who I am, and as true as the ocean goes and come, I move, I grow tending towards the horizon.

Look at the sun rising, look at the sun coming, look, this is me, as imperfect, as unboxable as those sun rays blowing life and love, light and hope.

Love to you all

poetry in prose - is there such a thing? Well, your closing paragraphs are a good example. Through the ages, the understanding of "I" has been in the ranks of "what's the purpose of life", and other metaphysical questions. As complex as it may seem, it is an essential element in our existence.
