I can hear your voice from the sky Whitney

A star died
Whitney Houston was the singer I loved and modeled after. I used to dance and sing like her, I used to rip my pants like hers and wear those pointy boots and leather jackets.
I found her fresh, energetic, beautiful and so full of laughter. She personified the strong young successful and outspoken Black woman. I was a young teenager and loved it.
I listened to her music as naturally as Madonna's, Michael Jackson's and more.
Whitney Houston means joy, youth, innocence, good times to me.
Yes, she has been through a lot those last years and I dreaded that news... I was still speechless and my eyes watered when the news fell. I actually was watching a show about Jim Morrisson. I didn't know that much about him and his music and wanted to learn, discover and try to understand that character, that artist when the news fell. I only learned the news around 8pm that on Saturday Whitney Elizabeth Houston had passed away.
Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston... and more like Brittany Murphy touched me because they were skilled at their arts and passionate as individual. They were hurting too. The people who can touch us so deep do it because they are touched so deep too. Like one of her friends said on BET yesterday night, she gave so much of herself and did get enough in.
You have to give a lot to channel such energy, image and art. You need to preserve your bodymind and recharge regularly to be able to live good.
Another star went away, left a sound that we will hear for ever, the sound of music.
May She rest in Peace.
Love and peace to all.

I like this tribute you've done to the late Whitney Houston, yes indeed her sound was magnificient, she uplifted many people with her talented voice, and powerful embrace of artistry in soul music, she move mountains inside the hearts and mind of those who've been depressed for years. I was just a child when I first heard the likes of her, and it was her who motivated me to sing like I never dreamed of doing as well.
She will surely be missed, but like you said we still have her beautiful voice to listen too, and I also cried as I was writing to my folks on facebook about her, because it brought memories of when my mom was alive, and we use to watch her at the Grammy Awards each year, take all them awards every consecutive year after year, in the late 80's, and towards the mid to late 90's. Wow, she has a legacy that's untouchable indeed.
Thanks @ Nialee for being so kind to share your heart felt thoughts in such a beautifully displayed, and respectful manner here in your hub, not sure where's all the people in response to it, but I surely know you have a huge heart. Awesome hub, just give it a proof read for minor errors. Nice!!!
